We had poverty and other challenges before COVID...
and the pathways out of poverty narrowed during COVID.
Our current trajectory seems dire...
and we can rewrite that story. We can create a much better future.

The Future We Seek
This series captures the fact that the path out of poverty has gotten even harder following covid.
Nevertheless, I believe that people living in poverty continue to generate viable and creative solutions that can transform both their lives and our shared future. However, reduced access to important resources such as education, adequate healthcare, food security, mentoring and finance means that an even smaller number of these visionaries will get to develop their ideas into their full form.
We need to open new pathways out of poverty. We must build new partnerships. We must also reinforce the existing grass-roots organizations that are doing great work with the most affected populations.
The second and third panels show the predicted increased flow of people falling back into poverty in the years ahead, if we do nothing.
Sun Relays aims to gather a global community of people who can support each other in a collective drive to change this trajectory.
What do we owe our kids?
What do we owe our kids? What do we owe all of our kids across the globe, in every home, in every community, in every social class, of all abilities and in every identity group?
We owe them a world that is livable.
We owe them a present and a future that is built in humble partnership with them.
We owe them a future in which no creed or religion has the right to condemn them to a life of suffering.
We owe them a pledge to learn with them and to change with them as we learn more about this world that we share.
We can start by helping one more person in our local spaces to find a sense of community and belonging. We can go further by identifying the new revelations about human identity that most scares us, suspend judgment for a while, find a good book and learn about this brave new world. With any luck, what we learn might enrich our lives and help us to approach the future with a stronger spirit of hope. We invite you to commit to making these changes and join the Vision2050 Global Network
The Vison2050 Network believes that our combined actions can create belonging, support lives of dignity in our local spaces and make the better future that we dream of a reality for all of us and for the generations that come after us. Our mission is to make the world of 2050 one of the best periods in history for the planet and for humanity.
